    This October, Kyrgyzstan’s entrepreneurs will have a unique opportunity to present their business ideas at the country’s highest profile investment competition – Get in the Ring: Bishkek. The contest is the final event in Kyrgyzstan’s 2014 Startup Weekend event series that took place earlier this year.

    KOMPANION FINANCIAL GROUP HELD ITS NINTH ANNUAL APPLE FESTIVAL

    Kompanion Financial Group held its ninth annual Apple Festival, which provided villagers with the opportunity to network and exchange experiences with fellow farmers, orchard-growers and gardeners. This year the event was held on September 13th in Ak-Jar village, Uzgen district, Osh oblast and brought together more than 1000 participants and guests. Since 2006 Kompanion has organized the festival in Kyrgyzstan’s northern regions. This year was the first time that the festival was held in the country’s southern regions, and it proved to be a was a great feast for the locals.

    KOMPANION FINANCIAL GROUP SUPPORTED MEKENDESHTER 2014 FORUM

    Mekendeshter 2014 Forum: “Contribution to the Development of Kyrgyzstan” took place on July 25th and 26th in Bishkek. During the two-day forum, more than 300 representatives of Kyrgyz diasporas, from 25 countries, participated in panel discussions, round tables and strategic planning sessions. The discussions focused on migration issues, small and medium business development, opportunities for strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s competitiveness in the global market, and the role of diasporas in the country's development. The forum was hosted by the “Roza Otunbaeva Initiative” International Public Foundation.

    CENTRAL ASIAN ENTREPRENEURS WILL ENTER THE RING

     

    This September young entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan will have a unique opportunity to present their business ideas at Central Asia’s biggest investment competition – Get in the Ring: Bishkek. The contest is the final event in Kyrgyzstan’s 2014 Startup Weekend event series that took place earlier this year. The project will be implemented by Kompanion Financial Group, the Central Asia Free Market Institute (CAFMI), Startup Invest and ICCO Cooperation in South and Central Asia (ICCO).

    KOMPANION INVEST WAS PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE IDB GROUP

     

    Kompanion’s CEO Ulanbek Termechikov participated in the Annual Meeting of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a member of the Kyrgyz Republic’s governmental delegation. The meeting, dedicated to the Bank’s 40th Anniversary, focused on Islamic banking product development, the IDB’s role in poverty reduction, and the barriers, advantages and disadvantages of Islamic finance.
